OKLAHOMA CITY — An Oklahoma City charged with four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of four family members says he is mentally incompetent to proceed with the case.
A motion seeking a determination of competency claims 40-year-old Daniel Green has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and “has a long and documented mental health history over the last 19 years.”
The motion, filed Friday by Assistant Oklahoma County Public Defender Gina Walker, says Green has a delusional explanation for his defense and is unable to comprehend his attorney.
Green is accused of the Aug. 14 shooting deaths of his mother, 57-year-old Sallie Green; sister, 34-year-old Rebecca Cizek; his sister’s daughter, 16-year-old Katherine Cizek; and her 7-month-old son, Amario Dominguez III.
