MOORE —

He graduated from NW Classen High School in 1965. He graduated from basic Police Academy in 1974 and enjoyed being a police officer and had worked for Bethany Police Department, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department, OU Police Department at OU Health Center. He had a 20 year career as an over the road truck drivers. Dick enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He also enjoyed 50s and 60s music, Elvis Presley and Conway Twitty.

 

In addition to the Moore tornado victims, there were also two victims from the Sunday, May 18 tornado that touched down in eastern Cleveland County and Shawnee. Here is one of their stories.

Glen E. Irish, 79: Glen lived in Shawnee but he was born in Wilson, Kan. to Ora G. Irish and Goldie Spears Irish Pantlik. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served from 1952 to 1955 in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Gilt Edge/Hiland Dairy from 1972 until he retired in 1996.

Glen is survived by the love of his life, Karen and her daughter, three children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
