Documentary to play at OU College of Law

NORMAN — The OU College of Law will host a screening March 24 of the award-winning Sundance feature documentary “Sewing Hope.”

“Sewing Hope” is the story of Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe, who runs St. Monica’s School for Girls in Gulu, Uganda. The documentary is the story of her mission to bring in abused and traumatized girls and women and teach them vocational skills that will help them create a future.

The event will be at noon at the College of Law, 300 W. Timberdell Road, in Classroom 2. Free lunch will be available for those who RSVP by March 21. To RSVP, email rlaizure@ou.edu. Donations will be accepted at the door.

The sponsors of the event, Law Students for Africa, also will sell copies of the book “Sewing Hope,” which tells Sister Rosemary’s story in more detail. Copies are available for $20 minimum donation.
