NORMAN — The chief medical examiner has ruled that Monday’s fatal fall at a dormitory construction site was an accident.
Amy Elliott, chief administrative officer for the chief medical examiner, said Thursday morning that Colby Shaw, 24, died of multiple blunt-force injuries.
Shaw, an Oklahoma City construction worker for Universal Roofing & Sheet Metal, fell four stories while on the job at the University of Oklahoma’s Headington Hall.
The construction site is at Lindsey Street and Jenkins Avenue.
OU Medical Center spokesman Eric Ferguson said Shaw died at the hospital about one hour after the fall.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials are investigating the accident as are Flintco LLC, the construction project’s general contractor, and Universal Roofing.
