NORMAN — The OU Hornsemble will present a concert of music from the cinema at 6 p.m. April 27 in the Paul F. Sharp Concert Hall.

Billed as “Movie-Time Music,” the ensemble will present a wide variety of cinematic music from the 1940s to the present. The concert is free and open to the public.

Extra musicians, helping to create a larger symphonic texture and depth, will assist the 20-member ensemble.

Featured music on the program will come from film composers such as Eric Korngold, Bernard Hermann, John Williams, Henry Mancini and James Horner. The earliest film score on the program will be the 1942 film “King’s Row”. The latest score will be from the 2012 film adaptation of “Les Miserables.”
