Norman man killed in shooting

NORMAN — The victim of Saturday night’s shooting has been identified as Aaron Donelle McCray, Jr., 22, Norman police said Sunday.

Officers said they responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 10:36 p.m. Saturday at 1820 Cherry Stone Street.

The victim, who apparently suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was transported to Norman Regional Hospital by EMSStat, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

Officers arrested and booked Ethan Johnson Spruill, 22, a neighbor of the victim, into Cleveland County jail Sunday morning on complaints first degree murder. 

 Norman police and the Office of the State Medical Examiner continue their investigation.

Formal charges against Spruill are pending through the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office.
