NORMAN — Electrical power was out for more than an hour in downtown Norman early Monday.

OG&E spokesman James Chappell said the initial outage at 8:20 a.m. was caused by a tree limb falling across a service line. That knocked out power to 88 customers for more than an hour and a half.

A second outage at 9:07 a.m. was caused by a blown fuse on the main substation serving downtown. It affected 706 customers for a little over an hour. Chappell said all customers were switched to alternate feeds until the repairs were completed.
