Norman FFA celebrates National FFA Week

NORMAN — The Norman FFA will celebrate National FFA Week until Saturday.

The theme of this year is “Ignite” and is designed to “ignite a passion for agriculture” in current FFA members, FFA alumni and the public.

National FFA Week began in 1947 and is celebrated from Saturday to Saturday during the week of George Washington’s birthday. The week allows FFA members to involve their schools and communities in spreading passion and excitement for agricultural education.

Throughout the week, the Norman FFA chapter will celebrate National FFA Week by participating in activities such as: a member breakfast followed by Ag Olympics, a visit to Oklahoma’s State Capitol building, Blue and Gold Day, where members dress in the official colors of FFA, a faculty appreciation cook-out at Norman High School, laser tag and an FFA T-shirt and Costume Day. The chapter also plans on having facts about FFA or agriculture read during the morning announcements at both Norman High and Norman North high schools each day of the week.
