MNTC to host regular board meeting Thursday

NORMAN — Dr. Max Venard will take his oath of office for the Moore Norman Technology Center Board of Education zone 4, office 4 seat this Thursday at a regular school board meeting. The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the South Penn campus, 13301 S. Pennsylvania.

Venard was the office 4 seat incumbent. He is an optometrist in Moore who graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis and earned a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University. Venard also is a member of several professional and civic organizations, including Oklahoma TLC Laser Eye Center, Board of Advisors; The Child Project for Missing Children, National Optometric Advisor; Association of Christian Investigators, Advisory Board, Missing Children; Mustang Club of America; Oklahoma Mustang Club; Gideons International member; and St. Andrews Methodist Church member.

Additionally, the board of education will hear a presentation of FY 2013 audit and a strategic plan update as well as vote on several agenda items including purchase orders, telecommunication services agreements and participation in the State Department of Education’s Cash Management Program.

Lastly, Superintendent Jane Bowen will present an update on National Technical Honor Society Induction and MNTC graduation. And the Board will vote to move into executive session to discuss the evaluation of Bowen for the 2014-24 school year.
