Boren appeals to OU alumni for scholarships

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma President David L. Boren made an appeal this week to all OU alumni for scholarship donations to benefit students.

Boren highlighted the lack of state funding for higher education as a growing problem for students and their families.

“We must keep the doors of opportunity open to our students,” Boren said. “By giving to scholarships, OU alumni can directly impact the lives of our current and future students. The generosity of our supporters will provide educational opportunities for the future generations of our state.

“The need for scholarships is greater now more than ever. Gifts small and large will be greatly appreciated.”

Those interested in giving, can call the OU Office of Development at 325-3701.
