Hibdon Tires honored

NORMAN — Hibdon Tires Plus was honored with a Partners for Progress Award by the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education and Moore Norman Technology Center during the annual OkACTE Business and Industry Day at the Capitol last week.

The Partners for Progress Award recognizes businesses nominated by their local technology center for their contributions to the development, promotion and progress of Oklahoma’s CareerTech System and their tech center directly. The award also recognizes businesses that have demonstrated their commitment to CareerTech education in multiple ways including by financial support, cooperative programs, community involvement and student sponsorships.

Over the past five years, Hibdon has donated $12,000 toward scholarships to MNTC to assist with continuing education, tuition and books and tools. These donations are possible through the Bridgestone Trust Fund, which makes money available to those schools making a difference in the community.

MNTC assists Hibdon Tires Plus by providing Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certified technicians who understand and can meet industry safety standards and who also have the skills needed to advance within the industry.
