TECUMSEH — Administrators at Tecumseh Public Schools say a lockdown of the district’s schools has been lifted after police apprehended two students they were looking for.

Assistant Superintendent Julie Dawson said Wednesday that all five schools in the district about 40 miles southeast of Oklahoma City were locked down at the request of police early Wednesday.

Officers requested the lockdown as they searched for two middle school students, but officials have not said why authorities were looking for the boys.

The students’ names and where they were last seen were not released. Officials would not confirm whether the boys made threats against the schools.

Dawson said the lockdown was lifted Wednesday afternoon before students were dismissed from school for the day.

Dawson said all students are safe.
