NORMAN — Commissioners
met in festive mood
Cleveland County’s Board of Commissioners and County Clerk were in a festive mood Monday, with all sporting Santa hats at the regular meeting.
“We’re probably violating some protocol,” Commission Chairman Rusty Sullivan joked as he wished everyone a happy and safe holiday.
The board opened bids on oils, lubricants and anti-freeze for county vehicles, dump trucks and a geographic information system consultant. They rejected bids for some post truck lifts and a high-rise transmission jack. Bids were awarded for lawn care at the county health department and for prisoner transportation.
An agreement between the county and OU for an Inside-Out Prisoner Exchange was struck from the agenda.
Library ending book box use
With the addition of its new 24-Hour Library in East Norman, the Pioneer Library System will discontinue the use of its book box at B & B Country Store, 3831 Alameda St., effective Dec. 31.
Cardholders who have used the book box now are asked to use the 24-Hour Library, on the campus of Irving Recreation Center and Irving Middle School at 125 Vicksburg Ave. The new facility, which began service in October, is available for book drop-offs and pickups as the book box, but checkouts as well from its collection of materials. Norman also has library services available at 225 N. Webster Ave., and Norman Public Library West, 300 Norman Center Court.
