NORMAN — Two Oklahoma City 33-year-olds received charges Friday after their arrests on suspicion of burglaries in Newcastle and Goldsby.
The McClain County District Attorney’s Office filed felony charges of second-degree burglary and knowingly concealing stolen property against both Karen Annette Woodard, 33, of Oklahoma City, and Christopher Lee Tripp, 33, of Oklahoma City.
The two are accused of burglarizing Mason’s Pecans & Peanuts, 4913 SE 44th St. in Newcastle, and a north Goldsby residence on Tuesday.
McClain County sheriff’s deputies arrested the two near the site of the burglarized Goldsby residence after their vehicle would not start. A neighbor reported a burglary to the homeowner and stayed with Woodard until deputies arrived.
Tripp ran, McClain County Sheriff Don Hewett said, though he was apprehended within 30 minutes.
Newcastle Police Chief Gary Norman said Woodard and Tripp confessed to both burglaries.
Court documents show their preliminary hearing conference has been set for March 28.
