Tourism luncheon coming May 13

NORMAN — Earlier this week at the monthly board meeting, VisitNorman announced that our annual Tourism Luncheon would be taking place May 13.

This year, the event will be held at the National Weather Center, one of the largest attractions in Norman, as well as the place that generates name recognition for our city coast to coast, thanks to the weather bulletins that originate in the building.

As part of the luncheon’s festivities, we will be awarding the Tourism Industry Awards for the second consecutive year. A panel will select winners in three categories: Outstanding Event, Outstanding Attraction and Outstanding Hospitality.

Last year, Jazz in June, The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History and both the NCED Conference Center and Hotel and The Montford Inn received plaques as the winners in each of those respective categories.

Tickets for the 11:30 a.m. luncheon will be $30 and table sponsorships will be available for $300 at VisitNorman.com/luncheon.

Stefanie Brickman, CTA, is the communications manager for the Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau. The vision of the Norman Convention & Visitors Bureau is to be the leader who proactively markets and develops Norman as the preferred destination in Oklahoma.
