Moore man faces animal cruelty charge

NORMAN — A Moore man was charged Wednesday with animal cruelty in Cleveland County District Court after he allegedly threw a cat against the wall because “it urinated in his boots,” court records show.

Kevin Dewayne Grace, 43, left the cat at his residence but was pulled over during a traffic stop when he admitted to assaulting the animal, according to the affidavit filed with the charge.

Police responded to the animal cruelty report March 10, where they found the cat lying on a bed in an upstairs bedroom, motionless with fixed, dilated eyes, the affidavit said.

Grace told police he threw the animal against the closet door and “might have killed it,” the affidavit said. He was arrested during the traffic stop.
