NORMAN — A veterans parade, chili cook-off and live entertainment will be the order of the day Nov. 2 in Blanchard.
The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. Parade participants will line up at North Main and 10th streets, beginning at 9 a.m. This year, officials will acknowledge those who served in the Korean War.
A Mayor’s Choice trophy will be awarded to the parade entrant judged best at representing this year’s theme.
The Blanchard Masonic Lodge will host all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m., with proceeds benefiting the Blanchard boys Takedown wrestling club. Items for the toy drive can be dropped off while having breakfast. Boxes will be at the Masonic Lodge and at the Legion Hall, 106 S. Main St.
Members of the American Legion Riders and the Patriot Guard will lead the parade. Canadian River Old Iron and the Silver City Tractor Clubs will have antique tractors on display.
A chili cook-off will be at the American Legion building, featuring the Blanchard Fire Department, which will compete against surrounding area fire departments.
