Seventh arrest made in homicide case

NORMAN — A seventh arrest has been made in the homicide of Justin Dean Barnard.

Dianna Paige St. Clair, 27, of Norman was booked into the Cleveland County Justice Center for the alleged crimes of first degree murder, burglary in the first degree, robbery in the first degree and conspiracy. The Norman Police Department made the arrest at approximately 11:07 p.m. Thursday.

On Friday, charges were filed in Cleveland County against two additional men for the March 27 homicide of Barnard.

Gary Manille Harris, 29, of Oklahoma City, and Montie Ray Jones, 45, of Jones, were charged with murder in the first degree, robbery with a dangerous weapon and burglary in the first degree.

All charges were filed in concert with men previously arrested in connection to the shooting, including Jason Harris, Rusty Wooten, Isaiah Walker and Michael Tubby.

Harris and Jones were arrested Wednesday in Oklahoma County by Norman police, with assistance from the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force.

Norman police believe the incident started the night of March 26 in Oklahoma City during a dispute between the victim and his girlfriend. According to reports, an assault was believed to have occurred.

The dispute continued March 27 and escalated to the shooting and subsequent death of Barnard. Persons associated with the victim’s girlfriend are believed to have come to Norman in retaliation for the alleged assault March 26.

Preliminary investigation revealed that three vehicles pulled up next to the residence and several masked men emerged, kicked in the door to the home and shot Barnard in the face with a handgun.

The intruders reportedly took a woman’s wallet and left. The woman, who is in her 60s, also was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure but was uninjured.

Barnard’s family has set up an account at Chase Bank to help cover funeral costs.
