Seven in homicide formally arraigned

NORMAN — All seven suspects arrested in connection with the homicide of Justin Barnard, 24, were formally arraigned Monday in Cleveland County District Court by Special Judge Steve Stice.

Four of the suspects’ bail was set at $2 million, including Dianna Paige St. Clair, 22; Rusty Wooten, 31; Michael Tubby, 21; and Jason Harris, 28. One suspect, Gary Harris, 29, had his bond set at $1 million.

The district attorney’s office requested that no bail be set for the remaining two suspects, Montie Ray Jones, 45, and Isaiah Walker, 23. The two are entitled to a hearing to have a bond set for them, Stice said.

A preliminary hearing conference was set for all seven individuals at 1 p.m. April 15.

Formal charges also were filed for St. Clair prior to the arraignments Monday. She faces a first-degree murder charge in concert and together with the six men.

In addition to first-degree murder, the six men face first-degree burglary and robbery with a dangerous weapon charges. Those charges were filed Friday.

According to the affidavit filed with St. Clair’s charge, during Gary Harris’ interview with police, he said he overheard a phone conversation between St. Clair and Wooten, during which St. Clair said she wanted Barnard assaulted for what he had done to her.

According to reports, an assault was believed to have occurred the night of March 26 in Oklahoma City during a dispute between Barnard and his girlfriend, St. Clair.

Wooten then relayed St. Clair’s message to a group of people at his residence consisting of Harris, Walker, Tubby, Jones, Jason Harris and one unknown male. Harris said in his interview he needed to hear it for himself, so Wooten put St. Clair on speakerphone.

While on speakerphone, St. Clair said she wanted Barnard “beat down” and then provided the address of Barnard’s grandmother, the affidavit said.
