NORMAN — The Moore Norman Technology Center is hosting a golf tournament to raise funds for student scholarships Sept. 23 at Belmar Golf Club.
The event was founded in 2006 and recently renamed the Frank S. Coulter Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of the center's superintendent from 1979 to 2003.
“The name change is a tribute to Mr. Coulter and his desire for every student to achieve excellence,” superintendent Jane Bowen said.
Sponsors can donate to with what is known as the platinum $3,000, the gold $2,000, the silver $1,500 and the bronze $1,000.
There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m., a second tee time at 1 p.m. and lunch at 11:30p.m.
“The scholarship will help students with tuition, supplies, equipment, books, testing, living expenses, transportation, medical expenses, utility service and housing cost,” MNTC’s Debi Waldroop said.
Once the money is raised, scholarship applications will be sent to the Moore Norman Technology center's board for selection.
