NORMAN — The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History will offer complimentary admission to all fathers Sunday in honor of Father’s Day.
Celebrated every year on the third Sunday in June, Father’s Day was established by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966.
Father’s Day weekend, the museum will offer a special Discovery Time at 2 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Discovery Room.
Also on Father’s Day, the museum will offer a family membership special, which can be purchases at a discounted cost of $35 from $45, with the chance to win an iPod Touch and gift basket from Excavations, the museum store.
Membership to the museum provides complimentary admission for two adults and children in the family under the age of 18. Members also receive the Tracks newsletter and discounts in Excavations and on education programs and birthday parties.
Admission to the museum is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors 65 and up and $3 for youth ages 6 to 17. Children ages 5 and under are admitted free. Discounts are available for military personnel and their immediate families.
