Crafts to be fairground theme

NORMAN — Children can enjoy a variety of arts and crafts at the Cleveland County Fair Grounds, 605 E. Robinson St., from 4-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The theme of the art activities is Rock Art and participants will have the chance to create sandstone “carvings” or petroglyphs and tempera hand prints. Other crafts include abstract art and making an apron from a T-shirt.

Bill Boettcher, Firehouse Art Center faculty, will demonstrate sculpting from 5-7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The Norman Farm Market also will go on from 4-8 p.m. at the same location.

Arts and crafts will be offered again on July 29 with a new theme and featured artist to be announced.
