Library and museum team up for library day

NORMAN — Sam Noble Museum and the Pioneer Library System will be bringing back a summer favorite, Library Day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at the museum, 2401 Chautauqua Ave. on the University of Oklahoma campus. The museum is offering complimentary admission to all guests with a library card.

Throughout the day, library staff will be on hand to register anyone who does not already have a library card. Guests can also purchase museum family memberships at the June discounted price of $35 from $45 and be entered into a raffle for an Excavations gift basket and iPod Touch. Prizes are redeemable at the front desk only.

Story times will be offered by both the Metropolitan and Pioneer Libraries throughout the day, and library staff will provide several craft projects throughout the day. Staff from seven Pioneer hometown libraries — Norman, Moore, Noble, Southwest Oklahoma City, Shawnee, Tecumseh and Purcell, plus the PLS Virtual Library — are participating in this year’s event.

For more information, visit or call any hometown library. Also, follow the library’s activities on Twitter @mylibrary2go or on Facebook at “Pioneer Library System.”
