12-year-old says 45-year-old Moore resident sexually assaulted her from 2012 to this May

NORMAN — On Thursday, a Moore man was charged in Cleveland County District Court with first-degree rape and two counts of lewd acts.

A 12-year-old girl told police Grebil Rolando Cruz, 45, began to sexually assault her when she was 11, according to the affidavit filed with charges. The incidents occurred between September 2012 and May 2014, the charges state.

In a forensic interview, the girl said the rape occurred in her home when Cruz came over unannounced. He walked in, grabbed her by the arm and took her to a bedroom, the affidavit said.

The victim told Cruz several times he was hurting her and he eventually stopped the assault and left, but not before telling her not to tell anyone what happened, the document states.

The lewd acts occurred when Cruz picked her up to take her to school when she overslept on two separate occasions, records show.

The affidavit shows there is a warrant request for Cruz, but as of Thursday, he had not been booked into the Cleveland County Justice Center on the charges, said Meghan McCormick, public information officer for the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.
