Tie Dye Tri canceled

NORMAN — The 13th annual Tie Dye Tri scheduled for Sept. 21 has been canceled, according to a Facebook post by the Cleveland County Family YMCA.

The annual indoor/outdoor combination triathlon had become a staple event for many competitors and a starting venue for many triathlon newbies.

With an indoor swim followed by outdoor bike and run events, the competition was popular throughout the region.

Organizers cited the lack of a safe bicycle route as the reason for the cancellation.
