Two homes engulfed in flame

NORMAN — Norman firefighters responded to a structure fire early Sunday morning to find two homes engulfed in flames.

Deputy Fire Chief Jim Bailey said crews performed searches on both structures, but found no occupants in the homes at 1412 and 1418 Lindale Avenue. Crews responded to the call at 12:50 a.m. and it took firefighters about an hour to bring both fires under control.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Norman Fire Marshal’s office. Five fire stations and twenty four firefighters responded to the blaze along with Norman police and EMSStat paramedics.
