Workshop to empower young women

NORMAN — BeautyIS, a free event targeted for girls ages 11 to 14 — with the purpose of helping them uncover the beauty within themselves — will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the LoveWorks Center, 127 Main St.

Fifth- through eighth-grade girls are invited to attend.

Several University of Oklahoma students and women from the Norman community will work the event, including Brooke Hamilton, Miss University of Oklahoma, and Bola Ibidapo, the 2013 OU African Queen.

The event was organized by Hamilton and is sponsored by the Oklahoma Women’s Coalition and the Kiwanis Club of Norman.
