Power outages reported

NORMAN — Two electrical outages impacted hundreds of OG&E customers Wednesday evening.

The first was caused by the failure of an underground cable and lasted one hour and 28 minutes, said James Chappel, OG&E community relations manager.

The second, lasting about two hours, occurred when a power switch malfunctioned. The outages impacted about 3,600 customers in west Norman. At least one west Norman customer reported an outage Thursday morning.

Chappel said repairs began Thursday morning and when complete, the electrical system will be back to normal operations.
