Buried body found; police investigating

NORMAN — Norman police are investigating a death at 6809 E. Robinson St. after discovering a buried body at the residence earlier this month.

Police received a request for a welfare check on a resident at that location April 17. After not being able to confirm the welfare of the subject, police facilitated a missing person report.

Subsequent to the investigation, a body was found buried at the residence. The exact cause and manner of death has not been determined at this time.

Any release of information regarding the missing person or body’s identification is being held pending next of kin notification and formal identification from the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office.

Several witnesses are being interviewed. The Norman Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the matter.
