Woman convicted of murder receives suspended sentence

The counts are set to run concurrent with each other. Formal sentencing has been set for 1:30 p.m. May 28 in District Judge Tracy Schumacher’s courtroom.

Southerland filed a motion to quash all charges in early April, but it was denied nearly two weeks later. A hearing has been set May 21 for Southerland, and a jury trial has been scheduled for June 9.
