MNTC students offer salon service

NORMAN — Second-year cosmetology students at Moore Norman Technology Center, 4701 12th Ave. N.W. in Norman, are taking appointments for a variety of salon services in preparation for the Oklahoma State Board License exams.

Students work on the salon floor with licensed cosmetologist instructors present while services are being performed.

The MNTC Salon offers haircuts and styles, color treatments, permanents, updos, acrylic nails, fills, Shellac polish, regular and spa pedicures, regular or machine facials, event-specific make-up looks and wax services for eyebrows, lip, chin or full face. Hair, nail and esthetic services range from $5 to $15. Chemical hair services, like color, permanents and relaxers, range from $10 to $25 and up. Haircuts for children under 10 years of age are $3.

To make an appointment with the MNTC Salon, call 364-5763, ext. 7264. Appointment hours for MNTC’s Salon are: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:30 to 11 a.m. and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday, non-chemical service from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and chemical services at 6:30 p.m.

Funds raised through salon services go into an activity fund used by the students for special events and competitions. Surplus funds may be donated to an area non-profit. To learn more about enrolling in MNTC’s Cosmetology class, visit mntechnology.com or call 364-5763, ext. 7260.
