Witnesses testify about phones, footage

NORMAN — Testimony continued Friday in Cleveland County District Court as witnesses reviewed multimedia evidence regarding the death of an Oklahoma City man.

Prosecutors introduced new evidence, including cell phone records and surveillance video from a nearby house from the night Arthur Strozewski died.

Eddie Thompson, Loretta Hawks and Sebastian Shepard are charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and two counts of kidnapping.

Det. Mike Stoyanoski, of the Oklahoma City Police Department, said he has extensive experience as a computer forensic examiner.

Using an information extracting device to retrieve phone records from three different phones identified as belonging to Strozewski, Hawks and Thompson, Stoyanoski reviewed the findings with the court Friday afternoon.

Stoyanoski found Hawks’ number saved in Strozewski’s phone, as well as text messages and calls between the two, including calls from the morning of the incident. Communication records also were found between Hawks and Thompson in the form of call logs from Thompson’s phone.

Other evidence discussed included DVR surveillance footage from Sam Allen, a neighbor to Strozewski. Allen testified Friday regarding the footage from his house the morning of the Aug. 31, 2012, incident.

Allen said he originally installed four cameras to monitor cars that sped through his neighborhood but notified police of the DVR footage when he learned of the incident, allowing video to be retrieved for investigation.

Video showed a number of cars entering and exiting the neighborhood from the night of the murder. Allen identified cars he associated with Strozewski’s house as the same cars shown in the footage.

Video from Aug. 27, 2012, also was shown, where Allen and his wife first came into contact with a woman who they believed was staying with Strozewski. The woman in the video was accompanied by two children and was later approached by a vehicle, where a male figure stopped to talk to the woman sitting on the curb outside of Allen’s house.
