OKLAHOMA CITY —
“It was bittersweet actually,” Lynn said. “It was good to play with all the girls and see all the girls you’ve played against all the years. But at the same time, you have to keep in mind that it’s your last game and it kind of sets in. But it was really fun and I liked it a lot.”
After a hit loaded the bases, Carl Albert’s Crystal Wagner came to the plate with a golden opportunity. However, she hit into a double play to end the inning with the score still tied at 0-0.
Brown threw three scoreless innings before being replaced in the top of the seventh by Lynn. She held the East scoreless and handed the game over to the offense in the bottom of the inning.
The pitching and defense held up the final two innings and the game was called.
But that didn’t take away from the overall experience for the area players who got to play with former rivals.
“It was kind of cool actually,” Brown said. “Me and Jenna were talking about we’ve grown up playing against each other all these years. We got to play together once. It’s just cool to play together with all your rivals.”
