Three more file for city council seats

NORMAN — On the second day of filings, three candidates officially entered their names to be placed on the ballot for even-numbered Norman City Council seats.

According to the Cleveland County Election Board, Jim Griffith filed at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday for Ward 6.

For Ward 2, Aleisha Karjala filed at 4:05 p.m.

Rhett Michael Jones filed at 4:43 p.m. for Ward 4.

On Monday, the first day of the filing period, Clint Williams and Matthew Leal filed for the Ward 2 seat.

Also filing Monday were Gregory J. Jungman, Ward 4, and Chad Williams, Ward 8.

The filing period closes at 5 p.m. today.

The general election will be April 1 with a run-off election, if needed, on June 24.
