Triple X Chicken, one of Campus Corner’s newest dining additions, has permanently closed due to lack of community interest, management says.

Jordan Monroe, a manager with Triple X Chicken, said the restaurant’s owners "just wanted to close" the Asp Avenue location, which has been open since early fall 2019.

Triple X Chicken, owned by Fated Brands, is based in California, where its first location opened in February 2019. Fated Brands owner Nick Swinmurn said the Norman restaurant wasn't getting the community response the company wanted to see, but that Fated Brands may be back on Campus Corner come spring 2020.

"The community didn’t seem to respond to the Triple X Chicken concept," Swinmurn said in an email. "Our approach is to test quickly, so we decided to close the location. We expect to be back with an updated concept in early 2020."

Campus Corner Association director Carrie Hendricks told The Transcript that "something else is going to be opening in the near future” in the restaurant’s current location, but that she could not provide further details.
