The sounds of Christmas will again fill the sanctuary at First Baptist Church, 211 W. Comanche St., on Sunday and will be headlined by contemporary classical vocal group Veritas. Doors open at 5:15 p.m., and the free concert will begin at 6. Child care will be available for birth through pre-K.
The concert, presented by the First Baptist Church Worship Arts/Music Ministry, will feature First Baptist Church's choir, children's choir, orchestra and the talent of Modern Dance Arts.
"We are very excited to present this concert as a gift to our community. Everyone involved has put in many hours of rehearsal and preparation to help all who come be ushered into the spirit and sounds of Christmas through the arts," said Chad E. Smith, FBC minister of worship arts/music. "We really hope that this evening will bring families and friends together so that they can see and hear the gospel prepared through music."
Veritas has found themselves in some tremendous places, from belting out their power harmonies on the Carnegie Hall stage to crooning cruisers in the middle of the Caribbean, to joining Sandi Patty on her Forever Grateful tour.
Planned songs Sunday include "O Come All Ye Faithful," "The Sounds of Christmas," "Glory All Around," "Stille Nacht," "The Lord's Prayer" and more.
