A south bound train collided with a vehicle Tuesday at 4:40 p.m., sending two people to the hospital and causing a traffic backup in the area.
The collision occurred on Boyd Street, near where the street intersects Classen Boulevard. The train is now stopped on the tracks while first responders continue to clear the scene, and traffic impacts stem from Lindsey to Acres Street.
Two people were taken to the hospital after the collision, Norman police Capt. Jamie Shattuck said. Their condition is unclear.
According to the Director of Public Affairs for BNSF, no crew injuries occurred during this collision.
Shattuck said he is not sure how long it will take for the scene to clear. The impact to traffic in the area could linger into the evening.
