The annual Cleveland County Free Fair will be held Thursday, Sept. 8 through Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds, 615 E. Robinson in Norman.
Pinkie -- the Snakeshakers, Superheroes, Express Personnel Clydesdales and Coach Sauter's Clyde and Pony Show, a Presidential visit, Miss Oklahoma and Sponge Bob are among this year's featured events.
Held each September for over 90 years, this year's Cleveland County Free Fair will feature a number of new and traditional fair events including the Express Personnel Clydesdales -- Coach Sauter's Clyde -- Pony Show, The City Moon Band, Pinkie -- the Snakeshakers, The Bonham Revue with the assistance of the Oklahoma Arts Council, RCA Gospel recording artist Kimberly Bohanon, Tower Records Gospel recording artist Kacia Buckley, Miss Oklahoma-Jennifer Berry, Miss Teen Rodeo Oklahoma-Kallie Sue Baker, the annual Celebrity Cow Milking Contest featuring George W. Bush, the Canadian Rivers Old Iron Club tractor pull and antique tractor show, a Children's Pet Parade, a Children's Stick Horse Race, Sponge Bob and Batman, a live remote with King Country's Lynn Waggoner, E. B. Fun Time Rides' Carnival -- Midway, a Picture Perfect Past Photo Contest, the fifth Annual Gospel Night, the sixth Annual Youth Talent Show, Perry's Farm Petting Zoo, Chester's Pony Rides, Elizabeth Elam, the American Indian Goodwill Group Performers and Gospel group, "The Master's Touch,"state and county children's pedal pull contests, livestock and poultry contests, baking contests, 4-H, FFA, HCE exhibits and many other events.
The Fifth Annual Gospel Night will be Thursday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. featuring the American Indian Goodwill Performers at 6 p.m. followed by the American Indian Goodwill Group Gospel Singers, "The Master's Touch," Tower Records Gospel recording artist Kacia Buckley and RCA Records recording artist Kimberly Bohanon.
E. B. Fun Time Rides will feature a carnival and midway Thursday, Sept 8 through Saturday, Sept 10. The carnival and midway will open on Thursday, Sept. 8 featuring a $14 wristband from 7 - 11 p.m. allowing all to ride all rides as often as they like. E. B. Fun Time Rides will bring more rides to the Cleveland County Fair than ever before, catering to young and old alike.
The Sixth Annual Youth Talent Show will be held Fri., Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. Cleveland County residents ages 5 to 16 who wish to participate must pre-register at the Cleveland County Fair Board office from August 29 through Sept. 8. Registration will be limited and will remain open until the first 20 participants have pre-registered on a first-come, first serve basis. Winners will be awarded cash prizes in each category. The Celebrity Cow Milking Contest will be held Fri., Sept 9 at 7:30 p.m. featuring the cow milking talents of pre-selected teams consisting of local and national celebrities
This year the Celebrity Cow Milking teams will compete in five different categories: Team With The Most Milk, Team With The Least Milk, Team With The Best Costume, Team With The Best Technique and Team With The Most Spirited Coach.
