A Norman High School assistant principal was arrested in Canadian County Tuesday on a sexual assault complaint.

Assistant Principal Robert Davis has been suspended from Norman Public Schools, according to a statement from Superintendent Dr. Nick Migliorino. Oklahoma City Police Department made the arrest after a woman told investigators Davis had drugged her and sexually assaulted her in his Yukon home in May, according to an incident report.

"He has no access to our campuses and will have no communications with any Norman Public Schools staff or students," Migliorino said. "We do not tolerate any behavior or conduct of the type that is charged.”

Davis has been at Norman High for one year, according to a district spokesperson. The district is conducting an internal investigation and is in communication with OCPD.

Prior to Norman, Davis was a teacher and coach at Yukon High School for four years. Larissa Lockwood, communication specialist with Yukon Public Schools, confirmed that the man arrested was the same Rob Davis who was named Yukon High School Teacher of the Year in 2016.

Lockwood said the district has no further comment and will monitor the outcome of OCPD’s investigation.

Before that, Davis spent nine years as a teacher and coach at Canton High School in Canton, Oklahoma, according to the Yukon Review.

Master Sgt. Gary Knight, assistant public information officer with OCPD, said during the investigation, police spoke to people who knew or interacted with Davis. He said investigators believe there may be additional victims from separate incidents based on these interviews.

“We’ve identified several possible victims,” Knight said. “And we believe there are victims we have not heard from yet, and we certainly want to hear from them.”

According to the incident report, the adult victim identified as “VI” said she went to Davis’ home on May 23 — the same evening of Norman High School graduation — to take his son to T-ball and house sit. Davis arrived home at around 10:30 p.m.

Davis brought home sweet teas for himself and VI to drink, according to the report. She went to sit at the bar in the kitchen where he later joined.

“She said she remembers thinking that her words were becoming slurred and she wasn’t feeling so good, so she went outside to get some fresh air,” the police report states. “She said he followed her outside and noticed she did not have much ice left in her drink and offered to get her some more. He took her cup and went inside.”

When Davis returned, VI said she noticed the tea he handed her tasted different and more like a peach tea. VI began to feel even worse, the report states, so she decided to go lay down.

At this point, VI said she does not remember anything other than briefly waking up to see Davis sitting on the bed next to her, according to the report.

VI told police that around 9:20 a.m. the next day, she woke up to a phone call from Davis that she did not answer. About 13 minutes later, he called again. She answered and told him, “You drugged me,” to which he paused and then replied, “I just added some peach schnapps,” according to the report.

An investigator with OCPD interviewed VI at the hospital and retrieved a sexual assault kit as evidence, according to the report. During that interview, VI told the investigator that Davis was a principal at Norman High.

Davis was arrested by OCPD at a residence in Yukon without incident Tuesday evening, according to the arrest report. He was booked into Oklahoma County jail.
