A jury found Ronald McMullen Jr. guilty of murdering his daughter following a trail that lasted more than a week.
The jury deliberated for three and a half hours today over the first-degree murder charge before returning to court with the guilty verdict. The jury recommended a sentence of life in prison with no possibility of parole. The formal sentencing hearing is scheduled for 4 p.m. Dec. 4.
Ronald McMullen, 43, was charged with killing Kailee McMullen by shooting her in the face on June 29, 2017, at his home on 1709 Abe Martin Drive in Norman. The father and daughter were the only ones in the house at the time of her death. Karen McMullen, Ronald's wife and Kailee's mother, was working a night shift as a nurse at Norman Regional Hospital at the time of Kailee's death.
Testimony in the trial began Sept. 24 and jury deliberations started this afternoon.
