AARP chapter No. 1064

Local Chapter 1064 of AARP meets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Furr's Cafeteria in Norman.

University of Oklahoma Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art's Susan Baley, education curator, will present an overview of art and education programs of interest to seniors at Norman's Museum of Art. Anyone age 50 or better is welcome to join the local chapter of AARP. ?

Membership dues are $5 per year. Local chapters sponsor service projects, trips and events of interest for AARP members.



Oklahoma Romance Writers of America

Oklahoma Romance Writers of America meets 1 p.m. July 16 in the meeting room at Crossroads Mall, located in the Foley's wing next to the security station.

Burna Cole, retired museum creator and historian, will present a program on Western historical romances.

Original Widows Colony

The 24th annual Original Widows Colony Reunion is from noon to 4 p.m. July 16 in the Fellowship Hall of Olivet Baptist Church at 155 N. 65th W. Ave. in Tulsa.

The reunion is for former residents of the Colony established by Charles Page, the founder of Sand Springs who also established the Sand Springs Home for Orphans.

Norman Community Choral Society

The Norman Community Choral Society (NCCS) begins rehearsals for its fall season 7:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 1601 W. Imhoff Road in Norman.

The choral society, under direction of Beverly McLarry, performs two major concerts each year, as well as other free public performances.

NCCS welcomes new singers of all ages and levels of experience; no auditions are required. ?
