Longtime Norman residents Dr. Joseph and Maureen Rieger celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 25.

The Riegers were married June 25, 1955, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Rieger retired as a professor emeritus from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 1988. Maureen is a retired X-ray technician. She retired in 1988 from the J.D. McCarty Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities and from the Cleveland County Heath Department.

The couple's five children hosted an afternoon reception at the parish hall of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Norman. The Rieger's children are: Mike Rieger and wife Rita of St. Louis, Miss.; Mary Ann Logan and husband Colonel Thomas Logan of Edgewood, Md.; Alice Stacey and husband Kevin of Mansfield, Texas; Molly Rieger of Oklahoma City; and Sean Rieger and wife Dana of Norman.

Also attending the reception were the Rieger's seven grandchildren: Trevor Logan, Ryan Logan, Adam Logan, Nicolas Rieger, Alex Rieger, Clayton Rieger and Travis Rieger.

The Riegers expressed many thanks to family members and friends who joined in the celebration of their anniversary.
