Norman Buckaroos Square Dance Club
The Norman Buckaroos Square Dance Club will begin offering free square dance lessons for couples at 6 p.m. Friday at Whittier Recreation Center, 2000 W. Brooks St. in Norman.
Participants will be able to learn the state dance of Oklahoma before the centennial celebration. Couples are welcome to sign up to become members until Sept. 16.

St. Joseph's Knights of Columbus
St. Joseph's Knights of Columbus is hosting Bingo Friday night in St. Joseph's gym, 421 E. Acres St.
A light dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The first bingo session begins at 7 p.m., followed by the second session at 8:30 p.m.
Norman Galaxy of Writers
Jeff Provine, author of "Celestial Voyages: The Moon, Venus and Mars," will speak at the meeting of Norman Galaxy of Writers, which is 10 a.m. Saturday in room A/B of the Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster Ave.

Asian and American Christian Speakers Club
The Asian and American Christian Speakers Club meets 10 a.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall of Southern Oklahoma Baptist Church, 625 E. Frank in Norman.

The University of Oklahoma Women's Association officially begins the group's 56th year of activities with an autumn registration tea from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the OU Memorial Student Union University Club.

Newcomers Club of Norman
The Newcomers Club of Norman meets 10 a.m. every second Monday of the month at First Christian Church, 220 S. Webster Ave. from September through May.

Norman Senior Citizens Center
The Norman Senior Citizens Center is planning a Texas Adventure trip Sept. 23-27 featuring stops in San Antonio and Fredericksburg to visit destinations including the Dr. Pepper museum, a riverboat ride, the Alamo, lunch at the Guenther House and the Lyndon B. Johnson ranch.
Each of the trip's five days includes a continental breakfast, time for shopping or relaxing and other site-seeing activities.

The Oklahoma chapter of the Arthritis Foundation is gearing up for its annual teen retreat for teens between the ages of 13 and 17 who have juvenile arthritis.
