Business Women plan bowling fundraiser

The Norman chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will hold its fall GED fundraiser bowling event from 2-4:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at Sooner Bowling Center, 550 24th Ave. NW, Norman.

The chapter is looking for businesses and organizations to sponsor bowling teams. Cost is $140 per team and includes two games of bowling per team, shoe and ball rental and one soft drink ticket per person. Each bowling team may have four bowlers and can wear shirts that promote the business. The group is accepting donations as prize giveaways for bowlers.

Donations will be used to the the association’s new GED fundraiser program supporting the Norman Women’s Shelter. 

Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third places and for “Worst” team. The event will also feature door prizes and each bowler will get to spit the prize wheel when they get their first strike.

Lunch focusing on Gen Z is Nov. 15

Area chambers of commerce will host a luncheon on the ins and outs of the newest generation to hit the workplace, Gen Z, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Embassy Suites Norman, 2501 Conference Drive. The Moore, Norman and South Oklahoma City chambers of commerce are joining together to bring David and Jonah Stillman, father and son generation experts, to Oklahoma.

“We are excited to partner with our fellow chambers and sponsors to host this dynamic duo, as they explore a very important topic; connecting with the workforce of tomorrow, Generation Z. I can’t think of a more critical message as we look to link and grow with this burgeoning generation; we will all benefit from the wisdom David and Jonah brings,” states Scott Martin, president of the Norman Chamber.
