Bands set to compete at high school

Moore will host 15 of the state's top high school marching bands at Westmoore High School's Invitational Marching Contest.

The event takes place Saturday at Moore Stadium, 300 N. Eastern Ave. The preliminary competition starts at noon with the final round at 6 p.m.

Tickets will be sold at the gate and are $5 for the preliminaries, $5 for the finals or $8 for an all-day pass.?

The bands include the host band, Pride of Westmoore High School, as well as bands from Putnam City West, Piedmont, Edmond Santa Fe, Durant, Wagoner, Broken Bow, Bixby, Stillwater, Guthrie, Putnam City North, Shawnee, Carl Albert, Sapulpa and Duncan. The total cast and crew will be in the thousands.
