A pharmacy technician was charged Monday with entering a drug store where she formerly worked, and stealing an estimated $6,000 worth of drugs. The woman denies the allegations.

Allison Rhey Steadham, 26, Norman, was charged with second-degree burglary.

A pharmacist at Family Meds Pharmacy, 700 24th Ave. NW, reported several thousand pills missing from the store's inventory, police said. The alarm log indicated someone entering the store at 8:35 p.m. May 17, 35 minutes after closing time, and leaving nine minutes later. An alarm code was used to deactivate and reactivate the alarm system, he said. The burglar also used a hidden key to open and lock the safe, he said.

Police interviewed an employee in a nearby office, who said she witnessed the former employee entering the business with a large black duffle bag on the date and time in question, but didn't think anything of it since the woman used the alarm code.
