A Norman man died following a tractor accident Friday evening east of the city.

Nicholas Hobbs, 39, was identified as the victim.

The accident occurred at approximately 7 p.m. at a residence at 10300 E. Franklin Road. According to Cleveland County Assessor records, the residence is owned by Johnny C. and Marie A. Dugan, Jr.

According to a preliminary investigation by Norman Master Police Officer Kevin Smetter, Hobbs was offloading a tractor from a trailer when the tractor flipped. Hobbs then became trapped beneath the tractor’s steering wheel.

According to Norman Police Sgt. Michael Isaac, Hobbs was unconscious when paramedics arrived and remained unconscious upon transport by EMSStat to Norman Regional Hospital. Hobbs was pronounced dead at the hospital.
