OKLAHOMA CITY — Tinker Air Force Base was evacuated around 8:45 a.m. Friday after officials there say a bomb threat was anonymously called in.

By 11:15 a.m., emergency state and local officials swept the building 3001 and declared it safe for individuals to return to work, said Captain Christina Hoggatt, of the Air Force base.

The northeast building, 3001, hosts significant portions of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center operations and was evacuated as a “precautionary measure” according to a press statement.

The identity of the person who made the bomb threat has not yet been uncovered, said Hoggatt.

Throughout the more than two-hour ordeal, the base remained open to regular business and visitors.
