A driver was involved in an injury collision Wednesday night on East 60th Street, just south of State Highway 9 in Norman on a wet roadway.

According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, at about 7:50 p.m., a 2014 Ford F-150 drive by Nathaniel Welch, 38, of Norman, was heading southbound on East 60th Street when it left the roadway to the right and hit a guard rail barrier wall.

He was transported by EMS to Norman Regional Hospital and admitted in fair condition with external arm and head injuries.

According to the report, the driver smelled of alcohol. The suspected cause of the wreck is driving under the influence. A seatbealt was equipped, and airbags deployed.

OHP Trooper Joe Kimmons with the Cleveland County Detachment of Troop A responded on scene, assisted by two other OHP troopers and Norman Police Officer Dustin Murchison.
