Meating Place

The Meating Place will be moving into 121 E Main St., the former location of McNellie’s, some time in the next few months.

Food ruck barbecue is coming to Main Street on a permanent basis.

On Friday, The Meating Place announced it will be moving into 121 E. Main St. in Norman, the former location of McNellie's which closed for good in January. A post on the food truck's Facebook page said the location will be open sometime this summer.

"So thankful for all the support we've received the last couple years, we could not have done it without our customers!" the Facebook post reads. "Can't wait for you all to see the Meating Place's new home!"

The Meating Place currently serves a variety of barbecue sandwiches, as well as meat by the pound. Turkey, pulled pork, brisket and sausage can be ordered with various sides, including Kennebec potato french fries, coleslaw, baked potato salad, and "Sooner Sticks" — fried jalapeno and onion strings.

While the food truck can be found in many locations, it is a staple at 405 Brewing Company events.
